As the days get colder (at least for everyone living above the equator 🥶), Silverfin is here to keep our Liquid developers warm with fresh updates, new features, and maybe even a smile or two.
This month, we're shining a spotlight on a shiny new feature we introduced recently:✨ the manual fori ✨!
🚀 New Feature Spotlight: manual fori
We trust every seasoned Liquid developer is familiar with a regular fori loop, right 👌? It’s a great way to store collections in a custom drop, but when templates contain large datasets or very long iteration lists, the UX can start to feel... well, a little heavy 😥.
To overcome this issue and to improve general UI and UX for our users, we have introduced a small but powerful enhancement to the classic fori: the manual fori 🚀.
As the name suggests, the manual fori acts as a regular fori, but with the addition of a button to create new iterations.
This means:
Empty iterations stay hidden until needed
Templates look cleaner and more user friendly
Users can add entries at their own pace
And, based on user feedback, the overall behavior becomes much more intuitive for onboarding and day-to-day use
The manual fori isn’t replacing the classic fori. Both can happily coexist, each suited to different use cases.
To help you understand when a manual fori might be the better choice, we’ve worked with our design team to create clear documentation (with examples!) that walks through ideal scenarios.
We’ve designed the UI, UX, and Liquid updates to be as intuitive as possible, so you can get started right away. We hope you like it!
We’re eager to learn about your experience with our documentation, Community and this newsletter. Silverfin is all about connected accounting, so we’re aiming to connect more with the developer community too. 🤝 If you can spare a few minutes, we’d greatly appreciate your feedback through the survey.
