🏗️ Rowspan

While colspan has long been a staple in Silverfin templating language, rowspan is now available too! It allows you to merge cells vertically across multiple rows in a table. We’ve updated our documentation to show you exactly how to implement rowspan within your templates!

Good to know:

• When you use rowspan=“N” on a cell in row $R$, you must omit $N-1$ cells from the subsequent rows (specifically, the cells that would normally appear in the same column in rows $R+1$ through $R+N-1$). This is because the initial cell is already taking up their space.

🧪 Input validation with Regular Expressions

Preventing input errors at the source saves headaches later. Regex-based validation in templates ensures that your users only enter data that matches the expected format.

• Enforce precise formats like IBANs, VATs, dates or custom codes- Provide instant, clear feedback if input is invalid with the validation_text attribute.
• Combine multiple patterns for more complex validations.

🔗 Including templates from external companies in PDF exports

One of the more complex requirements we see is the need to include data or templates from external companies within a single PDF export. With this new approach we allow centralised reporting across multiple client files.

Good to knows:

• Learn how to leverage external_companies drop and the external_company object.
• You can now include a template from another company directly into your PDF file.
• Before exporting specific external templates, you need to reference the external_company , the period.reconciliations and the specific handle of the template.
